A girl age 16 committed suicide yesterday. Police investigated the hanging and explained this happened because of stomach ache.
Coincidentally her parents assaulted her the day before after being caught talking to a boy.

The storytelling group recently had an event to discuss identity and gender. The usual issues of socialisation came up. This extreme happening is quite regular which seems to be a combination of patriarchy, women’s role to serve and defer, and the social strata power relationships. Young dalit woman just died after being gang raped by higher castes.
