Battersea park – Me and MYCycle

Today I’m on a shorter cycle ride, back to the peace pagoda in Battersea Park

I remember it being built when I lived in South London in the early 80s

Buddhist?

I go with the Marx brothers view that I wouldn’t join a club that would have me as a member.

Maybe I have a slightly different approach and do join lots of things —- Boys Brigade, Sunday School, Scouts, Youth Club, Air Cadets (ATC), Jesus freak in my teens.

But I don’t necessarily stick with one thing or hang around

I’m from the U.K. where I’ve lived most of my life, travelled a bit and now settled(?) in India. I tell people I’ve had five careers having facilitated lots of things in all the sectors.

I’ll discuss politics, religion, Spirituality and philosophy with our guests who think I’m Buddhist. I like what it represents but even Gautam wouldn’t be inclined to join a club.

I live on the Limen, a view that was often discussed with my MPhil supervisor.

Climb trees

Pedal their ‘cars’ (semi -incumbents)

Walk their dogs

What a fun day, but there’s one or two problems.

BB— ball bearings help solve a complex worldwide problem — friction but it’s another BB namely Bad Behaviour, that helps create friction between the people.

An example of this is not following the rules.

I’m not talking of these rules

But these…

…. the people who rent electric cycles, often break the rules.

Cyclists are typically considerate of others — pedestrians and cyclists, obey the rules of the road, including stopping at red lights but in the last few years there’s been a big change.

The inexperienced cyclists who rent electric cycles are often reckless and unsafe —- ignoring the traffic lights and the general rules of the road, riding fast, weaving in and out at high speed,

It can be very risky …
