Lucie

Lucie departed on Sunday 26th January

That afternoon we buried her in a lovely field

Today we returned to do 11th day puja to help her spirit find its new home

Then lunch back at home

It’s very sad to lose such a wonderful friend, I miss her—-

—-being at home when I return, going on walks together and just being in my life.

Billet-Doux also misses Lucie

She’s such a famous dog with everyone asking about her.

A formidable team

No time for photos

I tentatively opened the garage door into kat planet.

B-A-Do was lying parallel to the limen, I thought relaxing until I noticed a quivering rat by her mouth. She half done the job but seemed to be frozen. As she pulled away I found a stick and finished the task

It’s then in noticed all eyes from the kits, mesmerisingly proud of mum, watching from their raised wooden cushioned castle. I passed the dead cat on a shovel for their approval.

Later as they were all turning and jumping in seemingly choreographed mayhem in the yard, I realised one was leading the chase of a cockroach. I followed and finished it off

We were a formidable team.

We miss the kats but mum (Queen) stays with us.

missing them ..

Happy Sankranti!

It’s a crisp winters morning but with a nice bright Sun. Breakfast is prepared and ready to serve the guests in an hour, so I now fetch curd and walk Lucie.

What a lovely morning, I praise a young neighbour’s Rangoli designs for Sankranti, while noticing other houses are already decorated with banana leaves with yellow painted cows passing by.

Declaring “Chennai-ge-day” (phonetical ‘good’) tea and getting a smile from the Chaiiwala. I’m reminded that …

Life’s good.

I’m happily reflecting on last night’s interesting dinner with great guests— teachers from Germany— with Sarvesh and of course preciousness herself Kaveri, Cauvery….

I’m forever told I don’t pronounce her name properly.

Her new festival outfit from Fab India

It’s lovely to have Kaveri here.

Kaveri continued her star performance. Entertained us over breakfast, helped install more Tibetan prayer flags

and become tutor showing how to draw rangoli.

Even Billet-Doux comes to look

A happy day.
