An age later

Yes it seems to have taken an age but our presence and Manjula’s is now at our new home to be.

Familiar radical red items (and others) are here.

Plus one or two completely new additions.

Our first guests at the new Manjula’s Mysore

We’re almost moved in — well sufficiently to welcome our new guests.

Kurt and Loe from Belgium, the very first guests and returners, having first visited us a few years ago. How cool is that? Complete with a soon-to-be new family member.

Luca, a ‘warm showers’ guest, has reached the final stage of his fund-raising cycle ride for a school in Bangalore.

Two Lucas

It’s been a long haul….

Weeks of to and fro.

The final stages

I’ve escaped with Akram’s assistance.

The usual fresh lime soda and chai at Mud Cafe.

But it’s taking a lot of effort to get to this stage.

Florian and Deepak got us to a flying start with regular Sundays, then the removal guys lugged the furniture and finally the plants were shifted.

It’s been a marathon and we’re not quite there.

Yet

It’s my first house move for sixteen years and the one I shared with MAnjula for nine.

I think she approves of the new house.

Welcome to our new home

and another chapter for our family community.

Complete with Mangoes.

We’ve been here a week.

and visited Depth and Green

Nearly everyday. My fave drink is Beetroot, ginger lemonade and we all like the veggie burger, pasta, pizza and apple pie! When they’re available.

But very sorry to let Gingee go …

Two young dogs had proven too much.

And Kaveri set out on a ‘new foot’ with a bath for Lucca

Breakfast is ready.

We’re on a slow start with Kurt and Loe returning to visit from Belgium (with a third member of family) our very first guests.

Last evening we even had games night.

Thanks for helping relaunch us.

Manjula and Lucie in their varied forms are beginning to settle into their new home. Dragonfly and pennants are already here with a dramatic new episode to their story.

More later.

A busy moving weekend.

Thank you to the two teams who moved the furniture and plants this weekend.

We also mustn’t forget the weeks of shifting that led up to this.

Thanks guys, sterling work.

It’s sixteen years, this is the place I’ve lived the longest in my 69 years.

Manjula and I created a wonderful home that we were proud to share with thousands of guests from around the world.

I’ll share more memories (there’s hundreds on this blog) but for now here’s our move from Siddarthanagar to Vijayanagar, a thirty minute journey from one side of Mysore to the other.

Today we shifted our potted plants, yesterday it was furniture.
